The Tax Recovery Process is regulated by the provincial government.
To have a property reach the Tax Recovery list, taxes are in arrears for more than one year. One year following the registration date of March 31st, the parcel will be sold at Public Auction (ie. Caveat registered on March 31, 2018, parcel sold at Public Auction after March 31, 2019, if it remains in arrears). At any time prior to the sale date, all levies can be paid in full and the parcel will be removed from Public Auction.

Each parcel will be offered for sale subject to a reserve bid and to the reservations and conditions contained in the existing Certificate of Title.
Additional terms and conditions of sale will be announced at the sale or may be obtained from the undersigned.
The land is being offered for sale on an “as is, where is” basis and the County makes no representation and gives no warranty whatsoever as to the adequacy of services, soil conditions, land use districting, building and developing conditions, absence or presence of environmental contamination, vacant possession, or the development ability of the subject land for any intended use by the Purchaser. No bid will be accepted where the bidder attempts to attach conditions precedent to the sale of any parcel. No terms and conditions of sale will be considered other than those specified by the County.
Kneehill County may, after public auction, become the owner of any parcel of land not sold at the public auction.
Terms: CASH OR CERTIFIED CHEQUE. GST will apply on land sold at the public auction.
Redemption may be affected by payment of all arrears of taxes and costs at any time prior to the sale.
