Pesticide & Livestock Medication Collection

Cleanfa2020-CF-Unwanted-Pesticides-Animal-Meds-Web-Capsule-800x800pxrms is collecting unwanted commercial agricultural pesticides & old livestock/equine medications in Alberta this fall.

The program rotates around the country every three years and will be coming to:

  • Southern Alberta in Fall 2021
  • Northern Alberta in Fall 2022
  • Peace Region of Alberta in Fall 2022

The program is offered free of charge: the crop protection industry, in partnership with the Canadian Animal Health Institute (CAHI) covers the full cost of operations.

Collection events typically take place over a specific day in a particular location. This year, they are hosting events in 20 locations south of Red Deer at the end of October. Exact dates and locations will be announced this summer.

Farmers who have material for disposal should safely store the products on-farm until the scheduled collection date.

Details will be posted at cleanfarms.ca (see "What to recycle and where", then "Unwanted/outdated products".)
