Thursday, May 19, 2022
The Rural Development Network and ASSIST Community Services Centre are hosting a 4-part webinar series to train service providers, community members and organizations in building their capacity to support newcomers in the community or workplace. The goal of this training is to promote the attraction and retention of newcomers in rural Alberta communities.
The training will be offered to organizations in Hinton, Kneehill County, Sylvan Lake and Wainwright.
In this training, participants will learn about the characteristics of a welcoming community through various levels - individual, collective and systemic. This training will highlight some best practices that service providers can adapt to help support their welcoming capacity in working with newcomers, as well as different aspects of inclusion, inclusive services, and retaining newcomers.
